Our History
El Concilio’s Community Impact Our History "50 Years of Unshakable Trust" In 1975, El Concilio began as a grassroots movement, delivering exactly 331 services to immigrant families looking for a foothold in Ventura County. Today, we stand as a Department of Justice (DOJ) federally accredited powerhouse that has provided over 377,737 direct services. From securing 13,685 citizenship applications to shielding 3,228 Dreamers through DACA, our half-century journey is defined by results. But our work is far from finished. Shifting national immigration policies have triggered an unprecedented 50% spike in daily walk-ins. In the first six months of 2025 alone, we delivered 20,265 services—surpassing past full-year records. We are expanding to satellite sites like Santa Paula, holding emergency preparedness workshops in local schools and churches, and ensuring no family faces an uncertain climate alone. We honor our roots by building an unbreakable future.
